The Mascali Collection is a small series of wooden sculptures inspired by the Ionian Coast of Sicily as much as by Japanese rock gardens, and designed and handcrafted to elevate your listening space. Because listening to music is an experience that I believe should engage all senses, not just your ears.
This Mascali Collection record stand is handcrafted from ash – one piece of wood: not more, not less. It comes with the carefully designed Perfect Groove, which means it can hold vinyl LPs from thin and worn out used ones, to regular single LPs, all the way to high quality thick cardboard stock double gatefold LPs without the need of a backrest.
This stand is treated with flames yakisugi-style to char the wood on the surface and give it its distinct black color and texture. The wooden surface is further finished with natural oils and waxes for protection. No worries, under normal circumstances the finish will not rub off.
About the material:
Every single wooden record stand is handcrafted from premium, natural timber. Because wood is a living material, each piece of the collection features its own distinct shape, grain pattern, color variation, and organic characteristics. Some people might perceive them as imperfections, but rather than flaws they are the authentic fingerprints of nature that contribute to make this stand a true one-of-a-kind original. Additionally, the yakisugi process of charring the wood introduces its own characteristics and textures and each single piece reacts differently to it. Wood breathes and responds to its environment. Over time, exposure to light and ambient air will naturally mature the wood. These processes are an intended design element of this piece, allowing your stand to grow and develop a beautiful, personal patina alongside your music collection.
